Dear St. Elizabeth School Community,
As you know, we have closed St. Elizabeth School and canceled all school-related events, effective with the end of the workday, Friday March 13, and continuing through Monday, March 30th. This includes all academic, athletic, extracurricular, Fundraising, and administrative events and gatherings.
This decision was made to help reduce the potential spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), which is creating an unprecedented public health concern across the U.S.. The virus has been proven to spread rapidly through social contamination, so we believe that taking the maximum precautions now is the best way to minimize the odds of a potential outbreak in our region.
Governor Wolf announced late Friday afternoon that he was mandating the closure of all schools for a period of two weeks (10 school days). As such, The Diocese will continue to routinely evaluate and reassess our plans to reopen on Tuesday, March 31st. If these plans change, we will provide as much advance notice as possible.
Throughout the duration of this closure, please be alert for updates or official correspondence from the school via Option C Parent Alerts and the school website under "Parent Infomration".
